Hello people!
Almost four years after I first implemented a weblog on this site, and maybe 1.5 years after I switched to Textpattern, I have no made the move to a new weblog software: WordPress.
There were many reasons for the switch, but the main reason was that WordPress is easier to customize and seems to be much better supported than Textpattern. Textpattern isn’t bad software, mind you, it’s just that after using it for a while and trying out wordpress, I like the later much better. Sorry, Dean, I do feel a bit bad for dumping WordPress and Textpattern.
So, what’s new? Well, at first glance you will see I have completely revamped the look and feel of the website. You’ll quickly notice that some feature aren’t back yet – most centrally, the photo albums. Also, most of the old stuff is gone – I’ll slowly port over the old articles.
There are a whole bunch of new features. The whole comments thing has been streamlined. You can subscribe to feeds not only of the main site, but also to comments of an individual article if you are so inclined. It’s now much easier for me to add photos to articles, too, so expect me to post more illustrated articles.
We also support trackbacks now. If you link to this weblog – or in fact any of my weblogs – make sure you ping me for a nice trackback entry. And spammers need not even try; it’s all moderated.
