I just received this email (in German):
>hallo!
>
>Bist du Pilot (oder co-pilot) bei Air Berlin und am Samstag um 21:10 von
>Palma de Mallorca nach Wien geflogen?
>Bitte antworte!
>
>Lg
This translates to: “Hello; are you a pilot (or co-pilot) for Air Berlin and flew from Palma de Mallorca to Vienna on Saturday at 21:10? Please answer!”
I can only assume this is either a really weird joke, or the most original spam I have ever seen.
_Update, May 4th:_
Okay, it seems it wasn’t spam. I told this person “no that wasn’t me”. This is the reply:
>naja eine freundin und ich saßen im cockpit und…wollten kontakt aufnehmen
>=))
>
>trotzdem danke!
Translation: Well a girlfriend and I sat in the cockpit and … wanted to get in contact. Thanks anyway”.
Well, I always suspected that Air Berlin doesn’t take in-flight security too seriously. But I must wonder how this person got my name and email address? I inquired to that effect, but so far, nothing.
