Indonesian Money

236Whoops – I’m a Millionaire! I’ve changed some of my precious Euro bills into Indonesian Rupiah – and ended up with a couple of million in my wallet. Interestingly Indonesia must have recently updated their money bills because I saw two varieties: The neat, new, colorful bills you see here and which are reminiscent of Euro bills, and old, more dull bills. My hosts tell me that the new bills were printed in Italy, and that the 100k Rupiah bills contain a printing error which places the day of independence in 2005. I didn’t keep one however – I doubt the collector’s value of this misprint would ever be worth the bother.

The money in this photo – roughly 2.3 million Indonesian Rupiah – is worth 200 Euros.
