Posting from 12000 Meters

Hi guys! At this very moment I am sitting on flight LH442, and I am posting this from 12 kilometers in the air. Or something like that. The connection is slow as hell, but it’s pretty cool to be able to connect to the Internet while in a – flying – airplane. Price for a 24h period is 27 US$, but if it keeps you productive and/or entertained then who cares?

Detroit Tomorrow

I decided to give it a try – and [fly to Detroit](/2006/03/20/detroit-this-week/) tomorrow. This will either be a short, cool trip, or a disappointingly short one if I don’t get a seat tomorrow morning. I’ll probably have Internet pretty much all the time except for taxi rides, so I’ll keep you updated via my [Geek Travel Blog](http://www.geektravel.info).

I should be back on Saturday morning.

Now, let’s see who is reading my weblog. ;-)

I'm back

I have returned from [my trip](/2006/01/19/see-yall-soon/). Had fun, but it was so damn hot. I’ll clear out the backlog of postings about the [Kuala Lumpur trip](/category/travelogue/kuala-lumpur-2006/) to [Geektravel](http://www.geektravel.info) (and some of the other blogs) as I quickly as I can get around to it. Anybody miss me (besides [Bolanle](http://www.bolanle.net))?

See ya'll soon

I’m [getting read to go](http://www.geektravel.info/2006/01/19/t-minus-twelve-hours/). I’ll try to blog about my trip, but I am not sure how much opportunity I will have to do so. I decided to finally start using my GeekTravel website for this purpose. I am a geek, I am gonna travel, so that’s what I started that blog for, isn’t it? No need to clutter up [this weblog](/) even more. ;-)

Travel Year 2005

I made the decision to travel more, and I think [I did okay in 2004](/2005/01/20/travel-year-2004/). So, how did I perform in 2005?

I went to:

* [Brussels](http://www.geektravel.info/category/destinations/europe/belgium/brussels/) (many, many times)
* [Paris](http://www.geektravel.info/category/destinations/europe/france/paris/) (twice)
* Avignon
* [Rhodes](http://www.geektravel.info/category/travelogue/rhodes-2005/)
* [Hamburg](http://www.geektravel.info/category/travelogue/hamburg-2005/)
* [London](http://www.geektravel.info/category/travelogue/london-2005/)

Again, I did okay, but not too greatly. If all goes well I’ll travel a little further in 2006. We’ll see.

Malaysia – January

Last night, I booked my flight to [Malaysia](http://wikitravel.org/en/Malaysia). I guess I am really going, yeah! I am already excited. Never been there. I will get to see my dear friend [Wenny](http://gizmo78.blogs.friendster.com/my_blog/), and of course such things as the famous [Petronas Towers](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petronas_Towers). It’ll be so much fun! I just hope the climate will not kill me. ;-)

I’ll be sure to update you guys once the trips draws nearer, and I’ll be posting a travelogue with pictures over at [Geek Travel](http://www.geektravel.info) as time permits.

I’ll definitely need a new digital camera now.

The big irony of this travel is that I’ll fly with KLM – for purely economical considerations.

Back from Brussels

I began 2005 with some travels: I spent the weekend in [Brussels](http://wikitravel.org/en/article/Brussels), took not nearly enough photos, got back yesterday. It was my first time in the city, “unfortunately” I was too busy to do much sight-seeing. The downtown Sofitel is nice; I got a good discount and actually slept in a 330 Euro/night room.

It looks like I may go back to Brussels quite a bit, so I’ll try to give some impressions of the city and post some photos, too.
