Every morning I read the BBC News. Today, I stumbled upon a report that Big Brother Nigeria had started.
Now, unlike some other people (who shan’t be named and shamed here, if you want to out yourself do so in the comments
) I never watched Big Brother, though of course it was hard to ignore Big Brother completely when it first hit Germany. I was still occasionally watching TV back then.
Out of curiosity I did check out the female contestants, and none of them is as pretty as my friend Bolanle. I’ll have to interview her what she thinks of Big Brother.
It’d be kind of interesting, however, to know how Big Brother Nigeria goes in comparison to, say, European or American editions of the same show. Will it be tamer or wilder? I could see it go either way – On the one hand, Nigeria has a large Muslim population who would object to any sex scenes or whatnot – remember the Miss World protests of last year – but on the other hand candidates in a poor country like Nigeria would be willing to go much further for the US$100000 offered as prize money.
