Collection Complete, Mission Accomplished: Today, I received the last TORG adventure that I was missing: “The Possibility Chalice”.
Now I have all rulesbooks, supplements, sourcebooks and adventures of TORG. Hooray. I’ll still have to track down some of the novels, however.
I did something this weekend that I have not done in a long time.
I actually read a book.
Yes, I know, it’s sad, but I haven’t read a book since my stay in the Novotel Kelsterbach. I know it’s sad, but I guess I have been so busy with all this other stuff that I didn’t really have the time for books.
Anyway, this changed on Saturday when some stuff arrived that I bought on eBay Germany. One of the books I got was “Storm Knights”, the first novel of the TORG trilogy. Since I had nothing to do on Saturday – I was supposed to go on a date but she asked me to meet on Sunday instead – I got lost in that novel and read from start to finish in one long session. Only 320 pages, so it’s not really an achievement.
“Storm Knights” itself is a fair book. The writing is okay, the story is okay, it’s not one of the best I read, but it’s not really horrible either. The main attraction is that the trilogy served as the introduction to the TORG game that was published by West End Games. If you know me, then you know that I absolutely love TORG. And “Storm Knights” does give some background and descriptions that really should have been in the TORG basic set.
So if you are a TORG fan like me, pick it up. Otherwise, don’t bother.
I’m looking to complete my TORG collection. I am looking for the following books:
Sourcebooks
Adventures
Novels
I am especially interested in Terra Sourcebook, Possibility Chalice adventure, and the Interview With Evil novel. If you know where to obtain any of the items in the above list, please let me know. I am willing to pay very reasonable prices for these items, say 4 Euros for a novel, 7 Euros for an Adventure and 10 Euros for a sourcebook, plus shipping.
Oh, I am mostly looking for the English material, I think there were French and Japanese editions. I might be inetersted in these, too, just for kicks. There were a few novels translated to German, I already have three and I can’t stand them.
Update, July 13th 2002: There are also TORG lead miniatures. I’m interested in these as well, of course, but the priority is not very high.
Update, July 18th 2002: I just won the bid on eBay on War’s End, a Dr. Mobius figurine and a Ninja figure.
Update, August 22nd 2002: I’ve just sent off a big order to WEG for most of the above. I will update this list as soon as I get those books.
